5 Tips for Moving Your Business During Peak Moving Season

Posted on

It's always best to plan a move during the off season when moving services are cheaper and you are more likely to have a smooth moving transition. However, moving during the peak season is sometimes the only option depending on your situation. For this reason, you will want to consider these five tips that can make your move easier even during this busy time:

1. Book Early: The worst thing that can happen is not being able to hire the movers that you want because they are busy on the days you need them. It's always best to book their services at least a couple of weeks in advance. This is also important to ensure that your business is back up and moving quickly.

2. Be Flexible: If the movers you want to hire aren't available the days you prefer, you should be flexible if you can. This way, you end up hiring the movers you want instead of hiring movers you are not happiest with. Plus, you can find better prices if you are able to be more flexible with both dates and times.

3. Stay at the New Location: When you hire movers, it's best to let them do the job of moving. You and your employees can be at the new location setting up, which is going to be much more helpful in getting your business up and running again in a timely manner and keeping employees on track.

4. Use Heavy Duty Bins: Instead of using moving boxes, you may want to consider heavy duty plastic storage bins instead. These can usually be purchased through your movers or you can purchase them elsewhere. The benefit of this is that they will provide the perfect solution for packing heavy using less boxes. Plus, there is a much smaller chance that the bins will rip or tear on you causing you to be delayed in the moving process and possibly left with damaged business assets. You can even use these bins for heavy duty storage in your new business location, as well.

5. Prepare for Extreme Weather: The summer season can mean that there may possibly be some extreme weather to look out for, which includes temperatures over 100 and possibly thunderstorms. Be sure to check the weather beforehand and prepare with tarps and rain coats or light clothing and lots of water.

When you know these five tips to prepare for your peak season business move, you can be sure that the rush of the need for moving services does not interfere with your business and employees.
